KoPu

Koivusaaren Pursiseura ry (KoPu Yacht Club) was founded in 1972. The club has about 360 members and we have berths for 120 boats in our harbor next to Lauttasaari. Please see the map.

Racing is an important part of KoPu’s activities. The Helsinki-Tallinn Race has grown over the years with about 200 boats now competing and KoPu’s Tuesday races are held weekly. The Tuesday races are the biggest practice races for keel boats held in the Helsinki Metropolitan Area.

Sailing is not so much something that you learn as something you grow into. KoPu organizes sailing practice for children and teenagers using the club’s own junior dinghies.

KoPu has a well-sheltered and well-equipped island harbor west of Helsinki in the Inkoo Islands, 29 nautical miles from our home harbor in Koivusaari.

Hauling and launching as well as a major portion of the work around the harbor is carried out by the members themselves, with everyone pitching in in turn.

For more information please contact the club officers by email. Feel free to ask!
